Norma Jean Davis, 91, passed away Sunday, March 29th, in Enterprise. She was born July 20, 1928 in Wakefield , the daughter of George and Louisa (Buchanan) Harris. Growing up in Industry, Norma attended local schools and graduated from Chapman High School. March 1, 1947 she was married to Preston Davis in Abilene. Most all of their married life was spent in Abilene. she had been employed by West's Plaza as a meat wrapper for many years. He preceded her in death in 2013. Norma enjoyed Gardening, coffee and spending time with family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Vera Boyd and a brother, Ray Harris. Norma is survived by: three daughters, Connie Zook of Abilene, Karen Schmidt of Salina, Lindy Mayes of Abilene, a son, Daniel Davis of Abilene; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a sister Wanda Schlappy of Chapman. Private family grave side service will be held Thursday, April 2nd at the Bethel Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name to be made to Hospice of Dickenson County. They may be sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home 501 N. Buckeye Abilene, Kansas 67410.
