She attended local schools, riding a horse to elementary school, and was a cheerleader, band member and basketball player at Winchester High School. Jeannette married Wilbur Curtis (Kirt) Bishop on June 1, 1942. They lived on the Bishop Farm homestead in Mooney Creek and raised four children; Gary (Sonita) Bishop of Albuquerque, NM; Ron (Diana) Bishop of the Bishop farm in Mooney Creek; Diane (James) Kelly of Overland Park, KS; and Denise Mercer of Nashville, TN. Jeannette’s only remaining sibling, Rita Jacobs, lives in Nebraska. Jeannette’s husband Kirt; grandson, Will Bishop; brothers, Paul, Claude and Don; and sisters, Rachel, Agatha and Lorraine preceded her in death. Jeannette led an interesting and varied life.
