Sandra Kay 'Sandi' Hoffman, 56, Effingham, KS, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, March 19, 2012 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, March 23, 2012 at St. Ann's Church, Effingham, KS, with Fr. Brendan Rolling, O.S.B. as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 9:00 PM. Memorials in honor of Sandi are suggested to the American Heart Association or Benedictine College and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left at www.beckerdyer.com. Sandi was born March 31, 1955 in Atchison, KS the daughter of William 'Bill' and Patricia (Zeit) Pruett. She graduated from ACCHS in 1973. Sandi was the Secretary for the Dean of Students office at Benedictine College, a position she cherished, along with everyone she worked with, for the past 12 years. She also worked for Marigold's Bakery on Saturday's. Sandi loved to shop and keep up with the current fashion trends. She served on the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and always looked forward to the parade. Sandi was extremely devoted to her family and cherished time spent with her grandkids. Sandi married James 'Jim' Hoffman on December 30, 1972 at the St. Louis Church in Good Intent, KS. He survives of the home in Effingham. Additional survivors include her mother, Pat Pruett, Lancaster, KS; sons, Jimmy Hoffman and Corey (Kim) Hoffman; daughters, Tiffany (Clinton) Ellerman and Whitney Hoffman, all of Effingham, KS; brother Danny Pruett, Lancaster, KS; sister, Karen Moeck, Atchison, KS and 6 grandchildren, MaKayla Hoffman; Ty, Corbin & Chandler Ellerman and J.J. & Payton Hoffman. Sandi was preceded in death by her father, Bill Pruett in 1996.
