Sandra K. Bell, 76, died Saturday, April 4, 2020 at The Ranch House in Garden City, Kansas. She was born October 18, 1943 in Stafford, Kansas the daughter of Otto E. & Helen M. (McLaughlin) Hicks. Sandra graduated from St. John High School in St. John, Kansas in 1961. On August 12, 1967, she married Bob R. Bell in St. John, Kansas. They were long-time residents of Lyons, Kansas before moving to Garden City in 2016. A homemaker, she enjoyed handy work, bead work, woodcarving, and cooking. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lyons, Kansas where she volunteered with the Shut-In Outreach and Operation Christmas Shoe Box programs. She was also a member of the Rice County Quilt Guild. Survivors include her husband Bob R. Bell of the home; three children Edward & wife Selena Bell of Manhattan, Kansas, Laurie & husband Chad Ulrich of Garden City, Kansas, and Robert & wife Elizabeth Bell of Ft. Worth, Texas; a brother Don & wife Christy Hicks of Branson, Missouri; eight grandchildren Nolen, Noah, Eli, Ian, Holden, Lily, Cody, & Annie; and many nieces and nephews. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter Alicia Kay Bell; three brothers Max Hicks, Larry Hicks, & Jim Hicks; and two sisters Peggy Redmon and Noreen Fletcher. A Celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to The Ranch House in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
