Clinton Edward Clark, age 79, of LaCygne, Kansas, passed away at home on August 27, 2017. He was was surrounded by his family, including his wife, Joyce of over 60 years. Clinton was born May 13, 1938 in West Ridge, Arkansas to Acy Clinton Clark and Mazie Magalene Pilgrim Clark. He grew up in Tuckerman, Arkansas, farming cotton with his father. On October 22, 1956 he married Joyce Laverne Callahan in Newport, Arkansas. Shortly after their marriage, the Clarks moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where Clinton worked for Hudson Oil Company for six years. They then moved to Ashland, Missouri where they farmed for M.R. and Bob Hudson along the Missouri River bottoms for three years. In 1966, the family moved to LaCygne, Kansas. By that time, the family included daughter LaVeda and son Mitchell, and later, another son, Tracy. Clinton would farm for M.R. Hudson Trust until 1973. He continued to farm that land on his own for another twenty years before retiring. Clint was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in LaCygne, Kansas. He was baptized in Long''s Lake on the farm. Clinton loved to hunt, and especially loved to quail hunt. He was known for his marksmanship skills. Clint and Joyce enjoyed country music and dancing with their friends. Clinton was preceded in death by his parents; a half-brother, Burnis Clark; sisters Iva Mae Clark Bradley, and Myrtle Clark Woods. He leaves behind his wife, Joyce Clark; daughter LaVeda Riggs and husband Joseph; son Mitchell Clark and wife Julie; son Tracy Clark and wife Amie; brother Jerry Clark and wife Debbie; and brother-in-law Elmo Woods, Jr. He will be missed by his nine grandchildren, Julie Burk and husband Ryan; Jesse Funk and wife Michelle; Amy Hopper; Jennifer Sandage and husband Josh; Levi Clark; Reagan Clark; Samuel Clark; Garrett Clark; Ryan Clark. Two step-grandchildren, Joe Riggs, Jr. and wife Crystal; and RaeAnna Riggs. And great grandchildren; Alice Burk, Wesley Burk; Nolan Funk and Domino Slyter. Four step great-grandchildren Joey Marie; Jett; Jaxx and June Riggs. Clinton was greatly admired by his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Calvary Baptist Church in La Cygne, Kansas. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.
