Donald Edwin Stevens

Donald Stevens, age 52, Paola, Kansas formerly of La Cygne, Kansas passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016. He was born on June 13, 1964 in Jackson County, Missouri the son of Donald L. and Joann Stackhaus Stevens. He learned the trade of plumbing from his father and was a plumber for many years. He married Rhonda Curry on January 16, 1988. Don enjoyed K.U. Basteball, Chiefs Football, March Madness, dove hunting and music. But, the thing he loved most was spending time with his granddaughter, Harper Stevens. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Kyle Stevens. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda, two sons, Kevin and Chance Stevens, like a daughter, Kirsty Maris-Hartley, two brothers, Russell and Randy Stevens, two sisters, Stephanie Stevens and Linda Walters, and two granddaughters, Harper and M.J. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Thursday at the La Cygne Christian Church. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to service time at the church. The family suggests contributions to the American Stroke Foundation or American Diabetes Foundation c/o Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 304, La Cygne, KS 66040.
