Richard Donald Nave LA CYGNE, Kansas Obituary

Richard Donald Nave

Richard Donald Nave, age 88, Independence, Missouri formerly of Linn Valley, Kansas passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Edgewood Manor. He was born on July 6, 1929 at Kansas City, Missouri the son of Thaddeaus Dell and Goldia Jane Holycross Nave. He spent most of his working career in the grocery industry. He married Joan Hatch on July 16, 1948. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nanci Myers, his parents, two brothers, Robert and William and a grand daughter, Stacia. The love of his life was his wife Joan and the rest of his family. This was obvious in the fact that he and Joan took the grandkids on vacation every year and attended as many of their activities while they were in school. Richard was ornery in a good spirited sense. He would question friends and acquaintances regarding matters that were really of little use, such as, "What is the greatest number of coins to be given in change for a dollar". He enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino and eating ice cream. Richard is survived by his daughter, Teri Dzula, aka "His #1", a sister, Patricia Hicks, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Visitation will be held before the service beginning at 10 am. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice House. On line condolences for the family can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
