Donald Genova

Donald Joseph Genova, 80 years old, Cummings, KS died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the F.W. Houston Hospital, Winchester, KS. Memorial services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, July 30th, 2015 at the O’Trimble Funeral Home, Nortonville, with Fr. Lazar Carasala officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 38th and State Ave, Kansas City, KS. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00am on Thursday at the funeral home. Donald was born on Aug 2, 1934 in Kansas City, KS the son of Sam and Bertha (Loncar) Genova. He graduated from Wyndotte High School in 1952, and had attended Donnelly College. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Donald worked in the warehouse for the Case IH Company in Kansas City from 1963-1993. He was a member of the St. Joseph Church, Nortonville, KS. He enjoyed his grandchildren. He was married to Ila Wolf in 1961, they were later divorced. Survivors include a son, Mark (Debbie) Genova, Nortonville, KS, a daughter, Lisa (John) Freburg, Ft. Collins, CO, four grandchildren; Taylor and Dillon Freburg, and Jessica and Jenna Genova. His parents, and brother, Gary Genova (2002) preceded him in death.
