Thomas Cooke Pleasanton, Kansas Obituary

Thomas Cooke

Thomas Franklin Cooke, Jr., age 59, of Hume, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Tom was born October 28, 1959 the son of Thomas Sr.and Sandra Hall Cooke in Newport Beach, California. Tom was a man of grace, kindness and a quiet strength. He embodied gentleness in such a way that touched so many hearts and lives during his years here on earth, always speaking of and with grace given to him by his Saviour. He loved his family fiercely and led them with humility, teaching by example what it looks like to persevere through sickness and trials of life while holding steadfast to Jesus Christ. He loved his wife, Julie, since high school and they walked alongside each other in sickness and in health with such devotion and love. He showed his children what the love of Our Father in Heaven looks like. He had a big family that he adored and friends that became family in the town of Hume, that was his home. Tom was also a mischievous man to his core, always cracking a joke or telling a story, showing how important it is to not take life too seriously. Let us never forget his laughter, his kind heart that shone brighter than most and his joy and peace at the idea of spending eternity in Heaven once his time had come. He spoke with such confidence and peace when speaking about the day when he would go to meet Our God, knowing God had a place home in Heaven prepared for him. Tom is survived by his wife Julie, whom he loved for 40 years, his father, Thomas Cooke Sr., two sisters, Carrie Hewitt and Kim Cooke, two sons, James and wife Shelly, Joshua and wife Staci, two daughters, Holly Rushing and husband, Joshua, Sarah Franklin and husband, Dan, a niece(more like daughter) Marie Hartfield and husband Paul, and twelve grandchildren, Collin, Samantha, Alissa, Ava, Eliana, Caiden, Morgan, Addisen, Rhyder, Moses, Paulie and Catherine. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Grace Community Church in Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to service time at Grace Community Church. Burial will be in the Hume Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Thomas Cooke Memorial Fund and may be mailed in care of Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory P.O. Box 525 Pleasanton, Kansas.
