Gloria Ingermason

Gloria June Ingermanson, 89, Solomon, died Sunday September 28, 2014, at Memorial Hospital, Abilene. She was born June 19, 1925, in Clay Center, KS, the daughter of Arnold and Vera (Walters) Anderson. She graduated from Salina High School. She married Wilfred “W.R.” Ingermanson on July 2, 1945, in Salina, KS. They spent their entire married life in the Solomon & New Cambria area. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, New Cambria, KS and the Moose Lodge, Salina. She was employed by S H Kress & Company and Tony’s Pizza, Salina. She & her husband were foster parents to more than 100 children. Survivors include one son, Richard Ingermanson and wife Cindy, Solomon; one daughter, Carol Needham and husband Gary, Abilene; one sister, Joy Callabresi, New Cambria; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives. Funeral services for Gloria will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Peace Lutheran Church at New Cambria. Her final resting place will be in the Prairie Mound Cemetery near Solomon. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church, New Cambria, or State Library of Kansas Talking Books Service and may be sent in care of the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, 208 W. 4th, Solomon, Kansas 67480.
