A celebration of life service for Sharon L. Cook, age 79, of New Cambria, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Peace Lutheran Church Parish Hall in New Cambria. Mrs. Cook passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at her home in New Cambria.
She was born October 20, 1935 in Bluffs, Illinois the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Thompson) Gregory.
On November 20, 1960 she married Melvin E. Cook in Jacksonville, Illinois. Melvin & Sharon had made their home in New Cambria since 1962.
Survivors include her son Gregory Cook of New Cambria; Daughters Terry Malone of New Cambria, Toni Cline of Salina, Melva Howze of New Cambria; brothers Jim Gregory of Bluffs, Illinois, Jerry Gregory of Bluffs, Illinois, Dennis Gregory of Waterloo, Illinois; sisters Betty Jo Evans of Winchester, Illinois, Carla Irving of Jacksonville, Illinois; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin on May 24, 2004, infant son Michael Dean Malone, and her brother Wayne Gregory.
Cremation is planned with private inurnment at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon Cook memorial Fund and may be made in care of Carlson-Becker Funeral Home P.O. Box 308, Solomon, Kansas 67480.
