Eula Maxine (Foster) Smith, 86, Spring Hill, Kansas passed away at her home Sunday, August 19, 2018. Visitation Friday, August 24, 2018 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Service will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m. August 25, 2018 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill, KS (913-592-2244) Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Health Cancer Center, 15123 S OMC Pkwy, Olathe, KS 66061. Eula was born February 13, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas to Lawrence and Elsie (Tye) Foster. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. She married Eugene B. Smith at Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1951. Eula and Eugene became parents to Karen, Kathryn, David, Jeffrey, and Jennifer. The family moved to Spring Hill in 1975. She enjoyed reading, genealogy, taking pictures, traveling and working on the computer. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting. Eula loved to attend her grandchildren’s events. Eula was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Floyd, Ethyl, Irvin, Mary, and Ralph. Eula is survived by her husband, Eugene, of the home, sons David (Cescilie) Smith, Spring Hill, KS and Jeffrey (Julie) Smith, Perry, KS, daughters Karen (John) Ross, South Dakota, Kathryn Smith, Spring Hill, KS, and Jennifer (Marty) Landreth, Baldwin City, KS, she has eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a sister, Elva Mistler, Florida.
