Alan James Lindsey passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton, Kansas at the age of 57. He was born November 13, 1956 in Plainville, Kansas to James Henry Lindsey, Jr. and Ethel Pauline (Cooley) Lindsey.
As a boy, Alan attended school in Codell, Kansas. Later he moved to Hays, Kansas where he joined the community of Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas. With the help of DSNWK, Alan learned to make rugs and went to work at Paul MacDonald Chevrolet.
Alan enjoyed surveying the area weather. He was always watching, observing, and keeping track of the conditions. In addition, Alan was an avid sports fan. He knew the stats, the players, and the numbers. Some of his favorite teams included the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, Fort Hays State Tigers, and the Chicago Cubs.
Alan is survived by his brothers, Gary Lindsey and wife Judy of Phoenix, AZ, and Robert Lindsey and wife Jean of Stockton; and several nieces and nephews, Lee Lindsey and wife Shannon of Stockton, Linda LaRue and husband Delwin of Stockton, Jan Ferguson and husband Bill of Lindsborg, and Shawn Lindsey and wife LeeAnn of Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Lindsey; step-mother, Ione Lindsey; infant sister, Rose Mary Lindsey; and nephew,
Alan was greatly loved by his family and friends alike. He will be greatly missed.
