Mildred Jean Baldwin Elliston Robertson passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at her residence in Raymore, Missouri at the age of 94. She was born December 5, 1918 to William “W.E.” and Edna (Weyer) Baldwin in Palco, Kansas.
She attended and graduated from Fort Hays State University with her certificate in Education. She taught for a few years until her children came along and then she became a soldier/ farmer’s wife and later the wife of a pastor. Mildred was united in marriage to Jack Elliston. After the passing of Jack, Mildred was united in marriage to Dale Robertson who also preceded her in death.
Mildred was a lifelong Christian whose influence through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren continues to be experienced in Africa, Europe, Latin America, Asia and the USA. Her influence through her children and grandchildren continues in a range of ways including; medicine, elementary, and higher education, Christian radio, relief and development and family counseling. Her quiet modeling of hospitality and high expectations has left a broad multi-cultural legacy. She set an example of a life well lived.
Left to cherish Mildred’s memory is her children; Edgar J. Elliston, Katherine J. Beck, and David L. Elliston, ten grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents William and Edna; husband Jack, husband Dale; and sister Helen Beck.
