Marie McCue passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at the Hays Good Samaritan Society in Hays, Kansas at the age of 94. She was born February 10, 1919 in Stockton, Kansas to Carl and Hazel (Colburn) Bray.
Marie was a Stockton High School graduate. She was united in marriage to Albert McCue on January 19, 1941 in Los Angeles, California. They were blessed with two sons, Kerry and Bob.
Marie and Albert owned and operated the Midway Café in Stockton. Marie was known to be a great cook.
Marie was a member of the Stockton United Methodist Church and was very active in the choir. She was also a member of Business Professional Women’s Foundation (BPW) and the Eastern Star where she received her 75 year pin. She sang in a barbershop quartet with her sister. Marie enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, and many other crafts. She loved spending time with her family and playing cards and dominoes with them.
Left to cherish Marie’s memory are her sons, Kerry McCue of Hays, Kansas, and Bob McCue and wife Pat of Green Valley, Arizona; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Patrick) Noel, Rebecca (Dave) McCue-Franco, Kathleen McCue, and Spencer McCue; five great-grandchildren, Jacob Noel, Liam Noel, Seth Noel, Micah Noel and Riley Noel; and sister, Donna Allen of Bella Vista, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hazel; husband, Albert; brothers, William and Robert Bray, and sisters Beulah Lee Koppes and Loras Bray.
