Robert Rice, husband of Brenda Sue Smith Rice and the son of the late Ford and Anna Mary Bowman Rice was born in Taylorsport, Indiana on May 2, 1951 and departed this life at his home in Beattyville, Kentucky on January 10, 2019 at the age of 67 years, 8 months, and 8 days. He worked as a welder for Safe Factory. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by one daughter, Sandra Sparks of Georgia; seven sons, Robert Gilliam of Florida, Samuel Ford Rice of Richmond, Kentucky, Kevin Sandlin and wife Stephanie of Beattyville, Russell Sandlin and wife Becky of Williamstown, Kentucky, Travis Rice and Dylan Travis Rice both of Beattyville, and Johnny Ray of Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; expecting one grandchild and one great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson.
