Joseph “Joe” Powell Price, 47, the husband of Jennifer Sparks Price, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018. Joe was born in Paintsville, Kentucky and grew up in Johnson County. He later moved to Lexington, Kentucky to work at Carquest Auto Parts where he met his future wife, Jennifer. They were married in 1993 later moving to Garrard County. Joe was a truck driver for Carquest for over 20 years and retired in 2016 to follow his dream of being a farmer. Joe was devoted to his family and friends. Joe touched so many lives helping so many. His passions were farming and his beloved dogs. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Sparks Price; father and mother, James “Ken” and Sarah Price; his brothers and sister, Sherri Mollett (Jim), Ken Jr. (Cindy), Peter, and Jonah (Audrey); his father-in-law, Sherman Sparks; his aunt-in-law, Dana Maupin Sparks; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be Sunday evening, July 22, 2018 from 4-8pm at Lakes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2pm, Monday, July 23, 2018 at Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville, Kentucky. Burial will follow in the Lake View Cemetery in Paintsville. Visitation will be Monday from 12pm-2pm at Preston Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Keith Morris, Bill Williams, Jim Mollett, Nathan Price, Ken Price, Jr., Jonah Price, and Peter Price. Honorary bearers will be Lloyd Maupin and Sherman Sparks.
