Ronnie Hill Obituary

RONNIE A. HILL, age 75 of Cold Spring, KY, entered heaven’s gate on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, after successfully battling heart disease for many years. He was the beloved husband of 41 years to Betty (Phipps) Hill, who survives him along with daughters Tracy (David) Barger and Laura (Lowell) Burke and stepson, Glenn A. Judy. He was a loving grandfather of six and great-grandfather of twelve. He also leaves siblings Sue (late Carl) Sharp, Hila (Steve Newman) Hill, and Shawn (Kristi) Hill, and is pre-deceased by Retta (Bud) Turner, Charles Daniel Hill, and his twin Tommy Paul Hill, along with his parents Albert Paul and Leona Bell Hill. A man of many interests, Ron had a servant’s heart. He volunteered with the Cold Spring Fire Department for over 25 years. He was one of the early EMT Instructors for the state of KY and taught hundreds of EMT’s. Though a machinist by trade, Ron was in his element working in the ER at St. Elizabeth in Florence. He entered the Army early in life and continued his love for the military by volunteering in later years with the USO in hosting Honor Flights and other duties. He loved his church family at Asbury, where he was active on ministry teams and served as director of the Family Promise program at church for several years. A lover of UK basketball, he also enjoyed organizing softball teams and bowling. He and Betty were blessed to travel extensively and enjoy snowbirding in Florida. A memorial service will be held at Asbury UMC, 2916 Alexandria Pike, Highland Heights, KY on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Asbury UMC or the USO at USO CSO – CVG, PO Box 36, Hebron, KY 41048.
