DANNY VANDY, age 76, died Monday, August 5, 2019. Born in Paris, KY on August 18, 1942 to the late Oscar Vandy Sr., and Nettie Agnes Hix Vandy. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Agnes Stubbs. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Sandra VanHook Vandy; two daughters, Robin Maggard, Susan (Larry) Skates; four grandchildren, Craig Maggard, Emily Maggard, Cole Dedeaux, Mason Dedeaux; and three great-grandchildren, Jaciel Salome Maggard, Julian Salome Maggard , and Mara Maggard. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 9th at 2:00 PM at Ware Funeral Home with Dennis Jackson officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bill Watson, John Watson, Allen Oglesbee, Larry Skates, Addison Wiley, Mike Sosbee, and Sid Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of the Church; Billy Wiggins, Tim McNees, David Mitchell, Ray Singer, and Larry McNees. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 35 Davis Boulevard Tampa, FL 33606, and/or Shiners Hospitals for Children, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington, KY 40508.
