Staff Sergeant Russell William Brown

Staff Sergeant Russell William Brown, 96, husband of Sara Ellen (Nagle) Brown, passed away Friday, August 31st, 2018. He was born April 29th, 1922 in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, son of the late William and Louisa (Stupp) Brown. Russell Served in the United States Army during World War II in the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment F Company and was a Purple Heart recipient. Russell retired from E.I. Dupont Explosives, where he was an Explosive Technician. He was an accomplished pilot, an avid reader and loved animals of all types. In addition to his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Russell is survived by two daughters, Denise Marie (Mark) Ramser and Diane Louise (Cho) Nguyen; ten grandchildren, Tina Jones, Mai Ly Kwan, Thuy Ly Nguyen, Jacob Brown, Betsy Ramser Jaime, Kim Ly Nguyen, Russell Ramser, Anh Ly Nguyen, Xuan Ly Gibson and Hayley Ramser; six great-grandchildren, Connor Jones, Allison Jones, Madelyn Kwan, Sydney Jones, Liam Kwan and Lincoln Kwan. Besides his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his son, David Russell Brown; one granddaughter, Jessica Brown; two sisters, Marian Goff and Joan Zerbe; one brother, Donald Brown. There will be a memorial service held at a later date in Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be directed to your local animal shelter or American Legion Post.
