Donald Gene Withrow 1931-2020 Donald Withrow, 89, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away April 3, 2020, at his residence. He was born February 6, 1931, in Grayson; a son of the late Harvey and Virgie Carter Withrow. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers; Layfette, Curt, Ray, and Doug; two sisters, Edith and Annabelle, an infant son, Donald Gene Withrow Jr. He was a former Sunday School teacher, Superintendent, and attended the Fellowship Christian Baptist Church. where he loved to fellowship with his church family. He retired from Whayne Supply in Ashland, Kentucky. Donald proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. Donald enjoyed outdoor sports, gardening, reading, Cincinnati Reds, and following the UK Wildcats, but his greatest joy was his serving the Lord and his family. Donald is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-nine and a half years, Mary Opal Claxon Withrow; two daughters, Lisa (Keith) Sammons and Mary Beth Tolliver; one brother, Hugh Withrow; four sisters, Rosemary Kartune, Shirley Jackson, Wanda Withrow, and Karen Withrow all of Grayson; five grandchildren, Blake, Brandon, Bethany, Marcy (Taelor), and Brady; numerous nieces and nephews, and his church family and friends. Private services will be held at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Bryan Whitt, minister. Private burial will follow at the Veterans Cemetery Northeast. On-line condolences at www.sparksfh.com.
