Paul Smith Obituary

Paul J. Smith, 74, of Greenup County, Kentucky passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born August 22, 1944 in Greenup County, a son of the late John W. and Mary Harlow Smith. Mr. Smith was retired from Oldtown School after 20 years as a bus driver/custodian. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and attended the Lower Grassy Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Prince Smith; a daughter, Mary Brown; a brother, Johnny Smith; a son-in-law, Norman Cook; and several half-brothers and half-sisters. He is survived by, a son, John (Bobbie) Smith, three daughters, Eleanor Cook, Cathy (Keith) Adkins, and Alice (Mike) Lederer, all of Crane Creek in Greenup County, KY; three brothers, Lovell Smith of Crane Creek, Marion Smith of Indiana, and Franklin D. Smith of Lost Creek; three sisters, Geneva Martin of Crane Creek, Bonita Martin, of Grayson, and Mary Heeter of Indiana; twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Roger McGlone, minister. Burial will follow in the Smith-Claxon Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
