Willard Hoskinson Louisville, Kentucky Obituary

Willard Hoskinson

HOSKINSON, WILLARD H., 87, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2013 with loving family by his side. Beside him there, and for 63 years, his wife Betty W. Hoskinson, daughter Ellen (Harry) Huffman, son Steven (Jodi) Hoskinson, and granddaughter Kimberly Mullins. (The family in particular gratefully acknowledge the service of love Kim provided by the care and support to her grandfather in his waning days and months.) Willard is also survived by grandchildren, Jason (Shannon) Mullins, and Jacob Hoskinson and Jada Hoskinson and five great-grandchildren: Tre' Alan, Mackenzie, Benjamin, Jackson and Blake. Willard was firstly dedicated to his wife and family. In this role he served on church Boards, coached teams, and attended generations of children's events. He was president and owner of longtime Louisville business Towery Equipment Company and past president of the national Petroleum Equipment Institute. Willard was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Pacific Theatre in World War II, a UK Alumnus, and played semi-pro baseball. Most importantly, his faith was unshakable, and he believed that one's faith is best reflected in one's life and the quality of one's character. Those near him drew strength and comfort from his wisdom. In this, he was a lifelong Methodist, beginning at the Brandenburg United Methodist Church, and an active member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church. His service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with private burial. Visitation will be 4-7p.m. Sunday at Highlands. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Brooke's Finding A Cure Foundation (6403 Keith Springs Circle; Louisville, KY 40207) or St. Matthews United Methodist Church. In addition, the family would like to express their special thanks to W. Cooper Buschmeyer, MD, Geetha Joseph, MD (of CBC, Louisville) and Regi Varghese, MD. These physicians' support is measured by their extraordinary human compassion - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/louisville/obituary.aspx?n=willard-h-hoskinson&pid=167938596&fhid=29361#sthash.dAymshwH.dpuf
