Opal Harper Obituary

Opal Irene Harper, 95, of Paducah, KY passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Barkley Center. Mrs. Harper was a devoted homemaker as well as an ordained minister who was gifted at teaching the scriptures. She was a member of Victory Assembly Worship Center. Mrs. Harper is survived by one son, Gary Harper and wife Pam of Benton, KY; one daughter, Barbara Howard and husband Joe of Paducah, KY; one son-in-law, Larry Starnes; five grandchildren, Paula (Mike) Riley, Tim (Detra) Starnes, Bridgett (Jeff) Harlan, Joshua (Katie) Harper, James (Ashley) Harper; and one granddaughter-in-law, Emily Howard; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Gary Harper; Her parents, Ira Lane and Bertie Sullins Lane; one daughter, Judy Starnes; one sister, Kathleen Huckleberry, and one grandchild, Joseph Howard. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. David Parish, Rev. J.T. Parrish and Rev. Gary DeRossett officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February, 5 2017 from 1:00 pm until the service time of 3:00 pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.
