Rebecca Ruth “Becky” Roy, 73, wife of Paul Eugene “Gene” Roy, died Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born July 27, 1947 in Paris, daughter of the late John G. and Ruth Elizabeth Eads Woodward. Becky was a 1967 graduate of Bourbon County High School and was member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she was active in the June Stanley Circle. She loved her grandson, Liam, animals, yard sales, collecting figurines, and playing Bingo. Becky is survived by her husband, Gene; a daughter, Samantha Roy (Justin) Brown; grandson, Liam Brown; two sisters, Phyllis (Gary) Reed, Linda (Wilburn) McCarty; mother-in-law, Mary Mae George; sister-in-law, Sandra (Billy) Conn; three brothers-in-law, Billy (Julia Filer) Roy, Roger (Billie Jean) Roy, Ricky Roy; nieces and nephews, Tonia (Rob) Howell, Shawn (Cassie) Roy, Brittany Conn, Tiffany Conn, Karen (Dan) Donovan; and her dear, loving neighbor, Jane Duncan. In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Herman Roy; and nephew, John Clay McCarty. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Bell officiating. Interment will be in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Justin Brown, Shawn Roy, Billy Roy, Roger Roy, Ricky Roy, Dan Donovan, and Billy Conn. Honorary bearers will be Liam Brown, Wilburn McCarty, Richard and Deanna Eads, June Stanley Circle, members of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and staff of Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. t0 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
