Dica Simpson

Dica Simpson, age 96, of Fourmile, KY passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at her home. She was born on March 21, 1923 to the late Mckinley and Rosa Taylor Hopkins. In 1944, Dica worked at the Wright Brothers airplane factory during WWII, she then became a homemaker and raised her family. She was a member of Trinity Pentecostal church for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Simpson and many siblings. Survivors include her son John Simpson Jr., of Flatlick, KY; daughter Phyllis Trowbridge of Georgetown, IN; grandchildren Phillip Simpson, Ebbe Simpson, Pamela Mouser, Evan Trowbridge and Ivan Trowbridge; eight great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren; brothers Virgil Jackson and Kelly Jackson both of Jeffersonville, IN; special friend Doris Shelton. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Due to the government mandate on public congregations during the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will have private graveside services, Monday March 23, 2020 at Pineville Memorial Cemetery. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Simpson family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
