Ricky Lynn Gambrel age 58, of Pineville, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Hazard ARH due to kidney failure. He was born September 16, 1961 in Red Bird, KY, the son of the late Anna Mae Gambrel. He was a believer in the Baptist faith and had worked for Pineville Community Hospital for 19 years. In addition to his mother Anna, he was preceded in death by his grandparents who helped raise him Harl and Ida Gambrel; aunts Allene Taylor, Lucy Gambrel, Martha Gambrel, Sharon Gambrel; uncles Earl Gambrel and Claude Warren. Survivors include his aunt Bonnie (James) Woolum of Arjay, KY, Uncles Lester Gambrel of Middlesboro, KY, Arelee (Melva) Gambrel of Columbia City, IN, Eugene Gambrel of Wolcott, IN, Elmer Taylor of Arjay, KY; great-aunts Hester Gambel of Arjay, KY, Bobbie Cox of Flat Lick, KY, Gennie Dye of Flat Lick, KY; great-uncle Lloyd Gambrel of Fort Wayne, IN. A host of cousins, other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to all that provided care for Ricky during his illness. Funeral services will be 2PM, Friday, February 28, 2020 with Rev. Millard Danny Robbins; burial will follow in Greenhills Memorial Garden Cemetery, Middlesboro, KY with family and friends as pallbearers; music will be provided by bro. Arthur Jackson. The family will receive friends after 12 noon on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home until the funeral hour at 2 PM.
