Manuel Wallen Obituary

Manuel Wallen, Jr., age 86 years, 4 months, and 25 days, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 7:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Wallen and Bro. Stanley Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. Manuel was born May 31, 1934 in Revelo, Kentucky to Manuel Wallen, Sr., and Ollie Wilson Wallen. He was a member of Marshes Siding Church of God. He will be remembered as a loving, hard-working husband and father. He loved the outdoors and was always happy to take his sons fishing, hunting, and camping on the river. In his later years, he enjoyed gardening and spent many hours sitting on the porch with his wife watching the wildlife, especially birds. For the last two years of his life, he was a resident of Williamsburg Health and Rehab, where his favorite activities were people watching and teasing the nurses and staff. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his two sons Gary Wallen, and wife, Linda, of Oneida, Tennessee, and Larry Wallen and wife, Teresa, of Revelo, a grandson Christopher Wallen and wife, Jessica, of Whitley City, and great grand children Bryson, Breanna, and Brylee Wallen of Whitley City, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Cox Wallen, a daughter Judy Fae Wallen, his parents, three brothers, Hillary, James, and Robert, five sisters, Evelyn, Zora, Maxine, Mary Ruth, and Lorene. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Manual Wallen, Jr.
