Myrtle Willis Obituary

Myrtle Sterling Willis, age 88, entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at her residence. Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Sam) Sterling; eighteen grandchildren, sixty five great grandchildren and fifty four great-great grandchildren; one daughter in-law, Charlene Howard; sisters, Audrey Lackings (James), Patricia Scott and Mary Harris; sister-in-law, Angelina Harris; loving cousins, Dora Hansberry, Delores Howard and the late Joseph "Poppa" Tadlock; three God-sons, Frederick Hansberry, Jessie Clark & Keyon Robair. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by five children, Irvin, Brenda and Thomas Sterling, Linda Jones and Lillian (Leonard) Rand; Her parents, Arthur and Lillian Harris; grandmother, Louise Shiloh; brothers, Junie and Robert Harris, Ledell Chew and John Harris; sisters, Mae Elma Harris and Joyce Blackwell; two granddaughters, Erica Jones and Roslyn Williams, five grandsons, Irvin Jones, Earl Williams, Walter Sterling , John Welch and Grant Jones. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 8 am-10 am, followed by a physically distant graveside service at Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA, 70003 at 10:30 am, Pastor Albert Stewart Jr. of Spirit of Liberty Baptist Church, Officiating. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone in attendance is required to adhere to all restrictions.
