Ruth Virginia Bode Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Virginia Bode of Slidell, LA will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 4, 2019 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bode was born December 14, 1929 in Magnolia, LA and passed from this life on May 1, 2019 in Statesville, NC at the age of 89. She was married to Frank Marion Sykes until he passed away in September of 1968. About ten years later, she met and married Paul Bode who passed away in October of 2017. She is also preceded in death by her father, John Tim Welch and her mother, Nina Christine Turner True; and two sisters, Sue Taylor and Dot Hobgood. Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Frank Allen Sykes and wife, Debra of Madison, MS, Timothy Dale Sykes, LTC, US Army (retired), and wife, Cindy of Slidell, Anthony Wayne Sykes and wife, Glenda of Houston, TX, and B. Ninette Guidry and husband, Danny of Metairie; ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Lydia, Marshall, Christine, Athena, Anthony, Jack, James, Trea, and Scott; twenty-four great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel, Whittney, Amanda, Zachary, Natalie, Christopher, Anna, Alora, Isaac, Joshua, Morgan, Preston, Addie, Nicholette, Kendall, Neveah, Caleb, AJ, Abigail, Wyatt, Eselle, Madelyn and Charlotte; two great great-grandchildren, Eva and Harmony; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
