Darryl Whittington Obituary

Darryl Eugene Whittington Sr. “Whitt”, 53, an employee of Triad Controls of Baton Rouge and a resident of wherever his job took him, died on Monday, April 24, 2017. He was a Harley man who loved to go cruising on a pretty afternoon and an avid fisherman. He loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart and loved being around them when he could. He was a hard worker who never turned down a job no matter where it took him and was proud of the fact that he went back to college at the age of 43 to earn his degree and that he graduated at the top of his class. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 3pm until 7pm, with a 6pm funeral service, conducted by Rev. Joe Ratcliff. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Terry Neal Whittington; two daughters, Leslea Wascom of Walker, LA; Lauren McClendon of Jackson, LA; two sons, Dustin Neal and his wife Nicole of Warner Robins, GA; Darryl E. Whittington Jr. “DJ” of Central; his parents, Arthur Eugene Whittington and Glenda Anne Bates Whittington of Eureka Springs, AR; one sister, Rebecca Ferry and her husband Jimmy of Eureka Springs, AR; two brothers, Duane Whittington of Eureka Springs, AR; Russell Whittington and his wife Lisa of Zachary, LA; eight grandchildren: Alexis, Landin, Conner, Tucker, Christian, Jayden, Baux, and Fergus; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his in-laws and best friends, Dale and Libby Neal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy of Baton Rouge, 1805 College Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808 or Autism Speaks of Baton Rouge, 8326 Kelwood Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
