<p>BANGOR – John H. Gott, 80, passed away surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at a local hospital. He was born December 24, 1937 in Tremont, Maine, the son of the late Harold Gott and Alvina Dinsmore. John attended Bangor High School and went on to the serve in the United States Army in 1956. He later was employed at Eastern Fine Paper, Frito Lay and Bangor Roofing. Recently he partnered with his close friends Lester Lord and Neal Barschdorf to run their property management company LJN. John particularly loved spending summers at camp on Lucerne Lake, watching his family enjoy the lake. John’s greatest love and accomplishment was his family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia (Goodwin) Gott and his sister, Carolyn Buzzell of Michigan. He leaves behind his daughters, Cindy Hauk of Bangor, Pauline Grass and her husband, Jeff of Glenburn, Theresa Wirta and her husband, Robert of Hampden, Christine Bailey and her husband, Bert of Swanville and special daughter, Laurie Cates of Glenburn; Eleven grandchildren, Alicia and boyfriend D.J., Jaime, Tisha and “grandson-in-law to be” Jamie, Kolt, Kurt, Nicholas and his “bride” Kaleigh, Dan and girlfriend Kristin, Zackery John, Ben, Bridget and Michele; special great-granddaughter Kaiya Rein, a sister, Polly Sem and husband, Jerry of Washington and several nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held 11am Friday, March 30, 2018 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the service.
