Carolyn H. (Valek) Choquet

Bangor

Carolyn Choquet, 84, passed away June 12, 2020, at home with her two children by her side. She was born in Northfield, Minnesota, on April 27, 1936, the daughter of James and Agnes (Mracek) Valek.

She graduated from Northfield High School and cosmetology school in Minneapolis, MN. In 1965 she moved to Bangor, ME planning to leave after 5 years but never left because she found people to be so welcoming and kind.

Carolyn enjoyed her many years of community service in Jaycee Wives, and as treasurer of both The Junior League of Bangor and The Quipus. She was a member of PEO Sisterhood Chapter B, Bangor. She was especially blessed to have 40 plus years with her BLT’s, celebrating Birthdays and Lunch Together and so much more. She thanks them all for their many years of friendship.

Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Choquet of Philadelphia, PA., her son, Walter Choquet of Waterville; Roger K. Choquet , father of Sandra and Walter; a brother, Leonard and his wife, Geraldine Valek of Austin, MN.; sisters, Grace Knuston of Casa Grande, AZ; Lorraine Pexa, of Norwood, MN., and several nieces and nephews.

The family thanks the staff of Northern Light Hospice, specifically Melissa P, Dolly, Nancy and Tricia for the care Carolyn received but especially for the continuous support given Sandy while caring for her mother.

A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date and time to be announced when social distancing restrictions have been eased.
