<p>BANGOR – Nicholas N. Kesaris Sr., 92, passed away November 22, 2019, at his home. He was born June 6, 1927, in Lewiston, the son of Nikitas and Dorothy Kesaris. </p><p><br></p><p>Nick was educated in Lewiston schools, and graduated from New Hampton School in New Hampton, New Hampshire. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maine. Nick was a WWII veteran, serving in the Army Corps stationed at West Point. He was the owner of the New Atlantic Restaurant in Bangor, and later owned his own insurance agency. Nick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved hunting, fishing, and was an avid gardener at his home. Nick enjoyed boating at Northeast Harbor for many years. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Bangor, and a past member of the Anah Shriners of Bangor.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, Nick was predeceased by sisters, Athena Clifford, Anne Brountas; and brothers-in-law, Jack Clifford, and Charles Brountas Sr. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Caliope Kesaris; a son, Nicholas Kesaris Jr. and wife, Susan; a daughter, Diane Sprague and husband, Harvey; grandsons, Timothy N. Johnson, Nicholas Kesaris III; three great-grandchildren; in-laws, Thomas and Martha Mourkas; and several nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Services will be private for the family. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Those wishing to remember Nick in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church Memorial Fund, 90 Sanford Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
