<p>Sidney Smith, 90, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2020, at his home after a sudden downturn in his health. He was born on June 28, 1929, in Bangor the son of Simon and Jennie (Gopin) Smith.</p><p><br></p><p> Sidney graduated from Bangor High School in the Class of 1948. While raising his family in Bangor, he also raised and sold cattle to many entities around the greater Bangor region. Sid also ran laundromats and managed apartment houses before retiring to Arizona. He was a member of the Congregation Beth Abraham, Bangor. </p><p><br></p><p> He is survived by his daughters; Noreen Modery and husband Edward of Amarillo, TX, Marcia Smith of Watertown, MA; grandchildren, Heather Taylor and husband Ryan, Dr. Jake Modery and wife Kari; three great-grandchildren, Allie, Tripp and Maggie; a brother, Ben Smith and wife Shera of Newton Center, MA; a niece, Lisa, and a beloved companion, Susann Maris of Bullhead City, AZ. </p><p><br></p><p> Interment will be private at Beth Abraham Cemetery, Bangor. As the inability to travel prevents there being a public service at this time, there will be one announced at a later date. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.</p>

Sidney graduated from Bangor High School in the Class of 1948. While raising his family in Bangor, he also raised and sold cattle to many entities around the greater Bangor region. Sid also ran laundromats and managed apartment houses before retiring to Arizona. He was a member of the Congregation Beth Abraham, Bangor.
