Nancy L. Robinson Bucksport, Maine Obituary

Nancy L. Robinson

Nancy (Turner) Robinson, 76, of Bucksport took off her dancing shoes for the last time after losing a courageous battle with cancer on March 29, 2020 at Northern Light Medical Center, with loved ones by her side. Nancy was born February 16, 1944 in Bangor, the daughter of William and Lyndall (Bennett) Turner. Nancy grew up on the River Rd. in Bucksport where she enjoyed her childhood with special cousins and friends and their many adventures. Nancy had a love of music and dance from an early age that continued throughout her life. Though she was tiny she had a mighty spirit and a laugh that was bigger than she was. Nancy attended Bucksport schools, where she met her first love Jeffery Robinson Sr. Nancy and Jeff celebrated 52 plus triumphant years of marriage before his passing on July 16, 2012. Nancy’s green thumb was evident in her beautiful indoor plants as well as her outdoor gardens. Nancy cared for several children over the years who lovingly referred to her as “Nanny”. She hosted many family gatherings. One of the highlights was a contest to see whose filled plate looked the best. Needless to say brother Ron usually came out the winner. Nancy loved baking cookies with the kids. Her biscuits were the best around. She enjoyed spending time at Sandy Pt. Beach with sister Roxann and the kids. It wasn’t unusual for her to stop in the middle of the road to save a turtle. Nancy loved all animals, but cats held a special place in her heart, including her beloved J.R., who never left her side. Nancy was blessed to find love again with a wonderful man, Dawson Smith. Who also shared her joy of music and dance. They shared many happy times on the dance floor with sister Roxann and Bill and their many friends. Dawson showed his loyalty and loving, attentive ways up to the very end of her life and Nancy along with her family appreciated his loving devotion. Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband Jeffery Robinson Sr. and their beloved son Randy Robinson. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Cheryl Robinson and grandson Paul and granddaughter Sarah and her husband Ryan Lanpher, great-granddaughters Reese and Quinn. Also mother-in-law Eleanor Robinson. Sister-in-law Marlene and husband Jack Lozier and their children Andy, Carl and wife Cindy, Jackie and husband Keith Hunt, Larry, and Ron and wife Michelle. Son Jeffrey Robinson Jr., Laurie, Christie, Lindsay. Also survived by brother Ronald Turner and special sister-in-law Jo-Ann and Ronald’s children Ronald Jr., Steven, Michael and wife Lisa. Younger sister Roxann Clapper and special niece Nicole Gillway and husband Stuart, their children Alexis and Wyatt. She is also survived by special nephew Justin Clapper and Becca Cresswell and his father Tom Clapper. Surviving half-brother Donald Piper and special cousin Diane and husband Tim Connolly. Also survived by her devoted fiancé Dawson Smith. Many good friends and family members too numerous to mention individually. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to: Forgotten Felines of Maine, 499 Broadway #151, Bangor, ME 04401. God can heal our broken heart, but he needs all the piece.
