Nancy Cole Townley
To all of Nancy’s friends and family. Nancy wants you to know her work here is done. On February 18, 2018, she received a call, like an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not return from. There is a huge upside to this, a huge reunion with family, friends and beloved pets that she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be back to beading, writing and preaching. Bless her as she finished this journey, far from pain and sadness. Bless you all for your kind prayers.
Nancy was born September 30, 1943 in South Weymouth, MA a daughter of Ralph and Muriel (Burke) Cole. She graduated from Nauset Regional High School in 1961 and from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1965. She went on to earn her master’s degree in theology from Drew University. On August 21, 1961 Nancy married James Andrew Townley.
Nancy preached for numerous United Methodist Churches over the years retiring from St. Paul United Methodist Church in Castleton on Hudson, NY. Nancy also enjoyed making jewelry and formed a small company, BANAVA Jewelry with her sisters, Barbara and Valerie.
