Alfred von Aesch

Auburn – Alfred “Fredi” von Aesch, 64, a resident of Chesterville, passed away, Thursday, October 5th at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 9, 1953 in Switzerland, the son of Friedrich von Aesch and Anna (Bandi) von Aesch. He attended school in Switzerland and graduated from University of Basel earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as an electrical engineer for Sulzer Bro. LTD, in Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. On October 11, 1986 in Nevada, he married Dorene Bailey of Maine. They returned to Switzerland where they lived for 6 years before moving to Maine and making their home in Chesterville. After moving to Maine he worked for Livermore Shoe, Farmington Shoe, and Acorn Shoe doing maintenance, he also worked for Diaz Corporation, and Delecto, Bros., and later operated his own small engine repair shop. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed all animals, especially skunks and wolves. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorene von Aesch of Chesterville, his daughters, Toni Anne Morse of San Diego, CA., Jaclyn Ellis and her companion Nate Richards of Chesterville, and Tanya von Aesch of Chesterville, his grandson, Aidan Look, his brother, Fritz von Aesch and his wife Elfie, 2 nephews and 1 niece all of Switzerland, his mother-in-law, Ella Wilkins of Livermore Falls, as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews in Maine. He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Terese Sommer. Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 1PM on Tuesday, October 10th at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visiting hours will be from 11am to 1pm, prior to the celebration service at the funeral home.
