Obituary
Leeds – Reynald J. Lefebvre, 77, a resident of Leeds, passed away Monday, March 26th at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 25, 1940 in Rumford, the son of Rene and Lucille (Gauthier) Lefebvre. Reynald was raised in Mexico and attended St. Theresa’s parochial school and Mexico High School. Deciding shoe shops were not his future Reynald left home December 19, 1957 at age 17 and joined the U.S. Navy, where he completed his high school education. Then completed courses in Basic Hospital Corp School and EENT Training which provided him gainful employment for years to come. When discharged from the Navy in the fall of 1961, he met his future wife, Lois J. Bisbee on a blind date. They were married a year later on October 13, 1962. They lived for a while in Lewiston then bought a house in New Auburn and raised their 3 children. When the children had grown they moved to Leeds (to the country). Reynald worked for 20 some years at St. Mary’s Hospital, he then changed professions and became a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor. He was a vital part of the opening of the Halfway House in New Auburn from there he went to Tri-County Mental Health Services where he was a Clinical Supervisor for the Substance Abuse Department. Upon retirement he passed the time gardening and fly fishing, but most of all he loved puttering around in his wood working shop creating Intarsia art. He is survived by his wife Lois Lefebvre, his sons, Renald and Victor Lefebvre, all of Leeds, his daughter, Raedelle Knight and her husband Willie of Auburn, 3 grandchildren, Zachary Lefebvre, Lorna Knight and Renald Lefebvre. He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Vivian Plante and Beatrice Roy. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated with full military honors, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 4th at St. Philip’s Church, 2365 Turner Street, Auburn, Maine. Visiting hours 4-7 PM, Tuesday, April 3rd at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Interment at a later date at Leeds Center Cemetery, Route 106, Leeds, Maine.
