David Mooney

David Timothy Mooney Lubec and Cherryfield David Timothy Mooney, 62, passed away September 19, 2019 at his home with his beloved wife Elizabeth by his side. He was born November 19, 1956 in Island Falls, ME the son of the late John and Betty (Plumley) Mooney. He was a 1975 graduate of Katahdin High School. He then attended the University of Maine at Orono, and Bangor Community College where he received an AA in Liberal Arts and Computer Science. He loved music, being self taught to play bass and electric guitar. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, landscaping, hiking, camping, and fishing. He had a love affair with Mt. Katahdin. He also was a voracious reader, worked at the Bangor Library, and drove the Bookmobile. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Elizabeth (Stech) Mooney ; three brothers- Ed Mooney and his wife Hedda of Millinocket , James Mooney and wife Wendi of Bangor, and Kevin Mooney and wife Sherri of Levant ; a sister Irene Campbell of Patten ; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by both maternal and paternal grandparents. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Associaton of America at nationalmssociety.org ,or American Heart Association at www.heart.org Graveside services will be held 1pm Tuesday September 24,2019 at the New Cutler Cemetery.
