Stephen A. Nelson, Sr. Stephen A. Nelson, Sr., 63, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 following years of various health problems. He was born December 21, 1955 in Portland, Maine, the son of Dorothy Jane (Nelson) DeMoranville and was raised by his grandmother Ethelyn Beal Nelson of Jonesport. Stephen worked as a master craftsman owning his own business in Jonesport. Before moving to Jonesport, he was also employed by General Electric in Lynn, Massachusetts as an aircraft engine fabricator. Stephen was a Past Master of Jonesport Lodge No. 188, and a member of Rumery Chapter 46 of Jonesport along with being a Past Master of the chapter. He was an avid collector of coins, Avon bottles, and other collections. Stephen was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Jane Nelson, his grandmother, Ethelyn Beal Nelson, his sister, Stephanie DeMoranville, and an uncle Robert Nelson. Stephen is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Nelson of Jonesport and his two children Stephen A. Nelson, Jr. of Jonesport and Brashani Reece of North Cambridge, Masssachusetts. Stephen also leaves behind cousins Heidi Alley and husband Darren of Addison, David Nelson and wife Robin of Harrington, Robert Nelson and wife Kendra of Columbia, an aunt Charlene Nelson of Jonesport, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Sawyer Memorial Church in Jonesport with Lodge No. 188 participating at the service. Memorial donations will be accepted to help defray the funeral expenses and will be accepted at the Sawyer Memorial Church in Jonesport and the Jonesport Lodge No. 188.
