PHOTO E. Arthur Thompson East Millinocket – Arthur Thompson, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 31, 2016 after a short illness. He was born May 28, 1930 the son of Lawrence and Slsie (York) Thompson. Arthur was a faithful member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God where he played piano and organ for over 50 years, and for which he was given an award by the church. He was employed as paper room secretary at the Great Northern Paper Company, East Millinocket, for 41 years retiring in 1991. Arthur was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, June (Cram) Thompson of East Millinocket; four sons, Royce and his wife Gayle of East Millinocket, Sterling and his wife Ann of Medway, Relland and his wife Jeni of East Millinocket, and Joel and his wife Mary of Windham; grandchildren, Kerry and friend Crystal, Lanny and wie Elaine, Lawrence and friend Holly, Darrick and wife Stephanie, Erica Ingalls and husband Jason, Dustan Thompson, Tyler and wife Amanda, Meghan and friend Russell, Danielle and friend Jarod; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arthur is also survived by a special aunt and uncle, Cordelia and Norman Cook. At Arthur’s request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, January 5 at 12:00 noon at his home, 15 Eastern Avenue, East Millinocket.
