Mark Manzo Obituary

Millinocket - Mark A. Manzo, 48, left us all too soon on May 13, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Millinocket on June 3, 1968 to Carl A. Manzo and Joyce (Friel) Baron. Mark was a 1987 graduate of Stearns High School and 1989 graduate of Eastern Maine Community College where he majored in automotive technology. Upon college graduation he was employed at K&M Motors where he remained for more than 20 years due to his passion for the automotive industry. A career change brought him to work at the Millinocket Regional Hospital, where he became a member of the maintenance department. Mark loved his job as he was finally in his true element where he could apply his diverse skillsets. There he found his “second family” in friendships formed with coworkers and community. Mark cherished spending time with his son Kyle, whom he was so very proud of. He honored his Italian heritage, family gatherings, and loved being surrounded by his extensive family. You could find Mark enjoying his love for the outdoors by riding his Harley Davidson, hunting, snowmobiling and driving on the back roads. Mark took great pride in all he did, and was known for his great attention to detail. People were easily drawn to him due to his genuine caring nature and sense of humor. Those who knew him loved him. Mark is survived by his beloved son, Kyle Manzo of Bangor; his mother Joyce Baron of Millinocket, his sister Carla J. Manzo of California; his brother and best friend Chris Manzo and girlfriend Stephanie York and their dog Clyde, “his buddy” of Millinocket; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including some very special cousins, Steve Manzo of Millinocket, John Rand of New Hampshire and David Rand of California, and many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Carl Manzo, an infant sister, Carla Theresa Manzo and stepfather Leon Baron. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, May 18 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Millinocket, followed by interment at the Millinocket Cemetery. At Mark’s request, in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Katahdin Area Support Group, PO Box 374 Millinocket, ME, 04462. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Millinocket Regional Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. Arrangements made by the Lamson Funeral Home.
