Millinocket – Mark C. Michaud, Jr., 63, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 at a Bangor hospital. He was born August 25, 1953 in Millinocket, the son of Mark C. and Virginia R. (Barnes) Michaud. Chet grew up in Millinocket, and was a graduate of Stearns High School, class of 1971. He attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle, earning a degree in forestry, and also Andover College, where he earned a degree in Computer Science. Chet worked at the Great Northern Paper Company for a short time, and was a computer programmer at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine for several years, during which time he lived in Bucksport. Recently, he retired home to Millinocket where he loved to spend time with family and his brother Tad. Chet was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and spent many happy hours riding his Harley Davidson. He is survived by his siblings, Katherine Hobbs and her husband George, Penny Hale and her husband Everett, all of Millinocket, Ed Michaud and his wife Nancy of Greenwood, Timothy Michaud and his partner Mark of Indiatlantic, Florida, Julie Johnson and her husband Bob of Millinocket, and Tad Michaud of Millinocket; a sister in law, Stef Michaud of Norway; five nieces, Sheri, Peggy, Jamie, Kate, and Ashley; four nephews, Nick, Matt, Thomas, and Anthony; and great nephews and nieces, Josh, Grace, Gwen, Sam, and Nick. Chet was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Lawrence James Michaud. Graveside services will be held 1 P.M. Sunday, August 6 at the Millinocket Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Given officiating.
