Millinocket – Mary Elizabeth McEwen, 89, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at her home. Mary was born December 26, 1927 in South Lagrange, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Wing) Armstrong. Mary, also known as “Lizzie”, worked for many years at Atlas Plywood Mill in Howland before settling in Millinocket. While raising her family, she held various jobs but the one that meant the most was working for Dr. Lloyd W. Morey and family. Mary enjoyed doing crafts, ceramics, and cooking for her family, especially on holidays. Mary is survived by her children, Lorrie Harrison, Bonnie Veinote and husband Gene, Raymond McEwen, Jr., Brenda Cesare, Vicki Dubois and husband Dana, Donna Seamans and husband Roger, Carol Bracy and husband Bob, Brenton McEwen and Julie Douglass, and Jesse McEwen; a sister, Gertrude Murphy and her husband Dickie; and a daughter in law Linda Bouchard McEwen; many special grandchildren, great grandchildren, and sisters in law. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond McEwen, Sr., two sons, James and Robert, and six siblings. At Mary’s request there will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, June 3 at Millinocket Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
