Matthew Pelletier Millinocket, Maine Obituary

Matthew Pelletier

Millinocket – Matthew D. Pelletier, 31, an American Logger, died accidentally at his home on Saturday, July 20, 2013. He was born October 14, 1981 in Bangor, the son of Danny J. and Louise L. (Lagasse) Pelletier. Matt was a graduate of Stearns High School, class of 2000, where he played hockey. He was very passionate about all aspects of his life. Matt was an employee in his family’s business, Gerald Pelletier, Inc., where he will be remembered as a “jack of all trades”. He began working with his grandfather, Gerald Pelletier, and especially enjoyed working the past 6 years with his cousin, Jason. Matt greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding snowmobiles and ATVs. He had a special fondness for most anything with a motor, from lawnmowers to the heavy equipment he operated at work. He always remembered his first vehicle, a ’68 Chevelle, and several pick up trucks he owned afterwards. Matt was especially proud of his daughter, Emma, who he called “Peaches” and spent every weekend with. He will be remembered by all as a practical joker, upbeat personality, and all around great guy. In addition to his parents, Danny and Louise Pelletier, and daughter Emma Pelletier, all of Millinocket; Matt is survived by a sister, Pamela Sweeney and her husband Ryan of Sidney, and was looking forward to the birth of his first niece or nephew; maternal grandmother, Gaetane Lagasse of Madawaska; paternal grandmother, Lena Pelletier of Millinocket; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will also be missed by a special companion, Michelle Moscone of Millinocket. Matt was predeceased by his grandfathers, Clarence Lagasse and Gerald Pelletier. Friends are invited to visit with the family 9 – 10:45 A.M. Friday, July 26 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M. with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Matt may be sent to a fund to benefit Emma, C/O Norstate Federal Credit Union, 78 Fox Avenue, Madawaska, ME 04756. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
