Ruth Cyr
Millinocket and Hereford, Arizona – Ruth Cyr Nora (Daigle) Cyr, 88, passed away in the evening of Monday, May 8, 2017. She was born February 11, 1929 in Millinocket, the daughter of Hector and Grace (Gagnon) Daigle, Sr., and lived in Millinocket until she moved to Arizona 10 years ago. She is survived by three sons, David Cyr and his wife Beth, Ronald Cyr, and Adam Cyr and his wife Rachel, all of Millinocket, and three daughters, Shirley Cyr-Lee and her husband Ron of Hereford, AZ, Louise Canning and her husband Dale of Eddington, and Joanne Cyr of Sierra Vista, AZ; a brother, Lawrence Daigle of Chino, California, and five grandchildren, Shawn Cyr, Ryan Cyr, Bradley Cyr, Steven Cyr, and Jude Cyr. Ruth is predeceased by her husband Edmond of 36 years, a son, Matthew Cyr, a sister Corinne “Stella” King, and a brother Hector Daigle, Jr. Ruth was a graduate of Stearns High School, as well as Thomas College in Waterville. In her leisure time, Ruth enjoyed reading, doing research and writing educational books, having published two of them. She also enjoyed playing bridge, dominos, and other card games with close friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Valor Hospice Care in Sierra Vista, AZ for the wonderful care she received from them. Memorial services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, June 12 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, Millinocket. Interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. At Ruth’s request, there will be no visiting hours.
