Union — Josephine Ann Landi; a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, daughter, niece, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Oct. 10th, 2019. Having reached the age of 97, she was surrounded by her loving family. She spent her final years living with her beloved great-granddaughter Allie and her husband Logan; She was surrounded by the love, laughter, and smiles of her great-great grandchildren. Josephine was born May 18, 1922, and her motto for life was to never give up, and she never did. She left a lasting impression on anyone who was blessed to know and love her. Her passion in life was her nursing days. Josephine was a 1940 graduate at Summit High School. Upon graduating high school, she went on to study nursing at Overlook School of Nursing. She graduated in 1943 and became a registered nurse. For many years she worked at Overlook Hospital in New Jersey. She loved her job and what she did, if she could go back and change anything, she said she never would, and would still choose the same profession every time. If you were to have a conversation with her about her nursing days, she loved to tell anyone that the hospital she worked at now has 500 beds. Josephine is predeceased by her loving parents Felix and Anna Manganiello; her late husband Anthony V. Landi Sr., siblings Samuel Manganiello, Louis Manganiello, Dominick Manganiello, James Manganiello, Mary Hasney, Viola Sodano, Felicia Birofka, and nephews Pasquale Sodano and Peter Hasney. She is survived by her son Anthony V. Landi Jr. and his wife Sheila Landi; her grandchildren Rosa Batty, Melanie Landi, and Alicia Landi; great-grandchildren Alexandria Aiken and her husband Logan Aiken, Anthony Batty, Emily Batty, Justin Batty, and Brianna Elwell; great-great grandchildren Colten Aiken, Finn Aiken, Beau Aiken, and Aria Aiken. Her nieces and nephews Beverly Cherry and husband John Cherry, Joseph Birofka, Anna Fiore and husband Andy Fiore, James Sodano and wife Ann Sodano, Viola Castelli, Midge Vincendese and husband Mark Vincendese, John Manganiello and wife Colleen Manganiello, Bill Manganiello and wife Jan Manganiello, Sam Manganiello, Lou Manganiello and wife Judith Manganiello, Dominick Manganiello, Lou Sodano and wife Linda Sodano, followed by many great to great-great nieces and nephews. The graveside service will take place Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa Cemetery in Summit, N.J. A celebration of life will take place afterwards at Marcello’s Italian Ristorante.
