Methyl Carlson

Methyl A. Carlson, 78, passed away at the Sussman House in Rockport, ME. with her loving family by her side on Thursday, October 5th 2017. Methyl was born on July 11th,1939 in Milbridge, ME . to parents Francis Myrick and Ida Burke Myrick. Methyl attended schools in St. George and graduated from the St. George High School. Methyl married the love of her life Milfred Carlson and they began raising their family in St. George. Methyl gained employment from Van Ballens in Rockland, Maine and she also was a talented seamstress as she did alterations from her home for many families all while her children were growing up. Methyls passion was sewing as her family has said and she was always “up for a roadtrip”. Some of Methyls favorite times were attending church with her sisters in Waldoboro as well as spending quality time with her family. Methyl was predeceased by her parents, her husband Wilfred and her sister Peggy Reynolds who recently passed on September 18th . Left to cherish her memories are her children Sons Brice (Stephanie) Carlson , Dale Carlson, and Richard ( Holly) all of Tenants Harbor, Me. Her daughter Wanda Ausplund ( David) of Tenants Harbor, Me. Her sister Mary Jane Simmons of Friendship, ME and her brother Mike Myrick of Cushing, ME. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jonah Carlson, Christopher Carlson, Greta Carlson, Sean Carlson all of Tenants Harbor, ME, Courtney Ausplund of Port Clyde, ME. Amelia Ausplund of So. Portland, ME. as well as Mary Carlson of Naples, FLA, and Crystal Carlson of Mississippi. A great granddaughter Ruby Cushman of Port Clyde, ME. as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
