l Kevin A. Willey, 54, died unexpectedly as a result of a motorcycle accident in Waldoboro on October 5, 2017. He was born July 20, 1963 in Rockland to Russell L. Willey,Jr. and Gloria Colpritt-Willey. Kevin grew up in Tenants Harbor and attended local schools. He began fishing at a very young age, and worked as a commercial fisherman for the rest of his life. He worked as merchant marine for a couple of years and then went back to commercial fishing in the Gulf of Maine, Georges Bank, and Alaska. He felt at home on the sea, the sea was in his blood. He loved building nets and mending them as a twine man. Kevin lived his life the way he wanted. He was a friend to all. He was a kind and authentic Mainer who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He enjoyed going to Celtic games and concerts with his long time companion, Storm Hildebrandt. He loved his big kitty, “Little Boy.” He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling in Madawaska, story-telling, motorcycling and going on trips with Storm. He was such a happy go lucky man who enjoyed many hobbies. His grandson, Thomas loved calling him Grandpa Willey—he took such pride in being a grandfather. To know Kevin was to love Kevin. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Russell Willey, sister, Helene Davis and by his cat, Block. He is survived by his long time companion, Storm Hildebrandt of Bristol,ME Daughter, Hannah Willey and her companion Tom Testaverde of Gloucester, MA Grandson, Thomas Testaverde of Gloucester,MA Sisters, Tammy Willey and her companion Stephen Adams of Tenants Harbor,ME Jill Ross of Warren,ME Brothers, Ronald Davis and his wife Thea of Rochester,NH Trever Davis of Tenants Harbor,M Tim Ward of Augusta Step-father, Melvin Davis of Tenants Harbor,ME A service to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on October 14th at the Broad Bay Congregational Church, 941 Main Street in Waldoboro, Maine 04572. A reception will immediately follow the service at the American Legion,524 Waldoboro Road, Damariscotta 04543.
